Kelly Maixner came to Alaska from North Dakota in 2007 for a pediatric dental residency; he is currently employed as a pediatric dentist with Aesthetic Family Dentistry in Wasilla. Kelly and his wife, Margaret, have one daughter, Rosie (1), and he lists his hobbies as “anything outside.” Kelly began mushing four years ago and his race experience includes several mid- and long-distance races.
