Charley Bejna came to Alaska on vacation, from Illinois, in 1991. He began mushing in 2006 and has raced in the 2011 Willow-Tug 300 (17th), the 2012 Knik 200 24th), the 2012 Northern Lights 300 (16th, the 2013 Northern Lights 300 (15th), and the 2013 Iditarod, where he scratched in Unalakleet. Self-employed as president of Charley’s Landscaping Company, he lists his hobbies as working and spending time with his dogs.
