Cindy Abbott began mushing in 2011 and took 6th place in the 2012 Yukon Quest 300. A Health Science Instructor at California State University in Fullerton, California, she travels frequently from her home in California to train with Lance Mackey. Cindy and her husband Larry have three children, Kyle (44), who lives in Argyle, Texas; Bret (41), who lives in Hawthorne, California; and Teshia Ochoa-Abbott (31). Cindy lists her hobbies as mountain climbing, scuba diving, and living life. In 2010 Cindy was with a group of mountaineers who summited Mt. Everest.
